Leading the way one inspection at a time!

Chimney inspections are vital to the safety of your home and its inhabitants. The chimney's job is to contain those harmful gases from your heating appliance(s), fireplace(s) or stove(s) and transport those gases into the outside air above your home. If your chimney is leaking CO and other harmful gases into your home, you, your family, friends and anyone in that home are at risk of injury or death. So what's the real scoop on do I need an inspection or can I just sweep it?

The NFPA 211 code states that chimneys should be inspected every year and swept as needed. How that's interpreted may change from sweep to sweep. We simply follow the code, annual inspections and we need to sweep it every time we inspect it. Our experience tells us that if our customer wants an inspection of their chimney we're going to sweep it first. Even dust will hide cracks. Consider it prepping the flue for inspection. Our experience also tells us that if our customer wants us to just sweep the chimney, we're still going to inspect it when we're done sweeping the chimney. Consider it our due dilligence as chimney sweeps to ensure the safety of your home and the longevity of our business, there are no exceptions.

We have up to 2 different cameras on each truck. We use the ChimScan® camera system and the Wohler Vis2000-Pro. Each of these cameras has their strengths and both benefit our customers everytime we use them. For too long chimney sweeps have been trusting their feelings and experience along with a bright flash light to decide for you, the condition of your chimney and how to maintain it. The only way to really see the inside of the chimney is to either crawl up inside the flue with a digital camera or use one of the systems we use to properly document the condition of your chimney.

We see your home as your home. We respect your privacy and budget. We also firmly believe that our customers will value an honest and true inspection minus the guess work. We think that giving you facts about your chimney is more valuable than simply our opinion about it. We also want our customers to see what we see inside their chimneys so that they can make informed decisions about any recommendations. This greatly improves a customer's ability to understand something that they're most likely not expert at and helps to level the field of interpretation involved in inspecting chimneys. The camera sees what the flashlight can not.
