Chimney Sweep or Chimney Inspection? - What's the difference?

First of all, certified chimney sweeps are expert at how your chimney will vent the "products of combustion" commonly called "flue gases". If your heat has been turned off because your heating system's chimney cannot effectively do its job, you have an emergency situation. Often the solution has been to call a chimney sweep and have him or her come out and run their brushes up and down the flue a few times after cleaning out the bottom of the cleanout door and then the sweep would collect a fee and leave.

What's wrong with that? Well, everything! That's not a solution it's a bandaid. If your body experienced a heart attack and in the process you cut yourself, would you simply ask for a bandaid after taking a good shower? Probably not, It's only part of the job and doesn't provide you with any solution to correct your heart problem. Your flue may be clear but you may still have a chimney problem.

After every sweep, we inspect the inside and outside of the flue. What do you think caused the problem in the first case? Did the lining system break down? If so, that would mean a part of the protection or barrier between you and the carbon monixide that is inside the chimney is now missing. How did this happen so quickly? It didn't happen quickly at all; your chimney's liner has been breaking down and flaking for a some time unnoticed and any inspection that you may have had before hiring us just didn't catch the early or even later stages of evidence necessary to address the problem. We give you your heat back on, the evidence that points to the cause of the problem and the right options to fix it. Call us today to schedule an appointment, call us right now if this is an emergency and you are without heat.
